The @UKVolkswagen Scirocco has always aesthetically pleased me since its re-introduction in 2008. The model that was on test was the R-Line with the 2.0 litre TDI Diesel engine with the 6 Speed Manual transmission.
The exterior design of this car is the drama and the draw to this car. It looks aggressive and that it has a permanent angry expression, which I personally I really really like. The R-Line exterior adds an additional sporty look with 19inch wheels, tweeked bumpers, sills and badging, the R-Line theme continues inside with embossed seats.
Over the week I averaged 49mpg in the Scirocco, from the 6 speed diesel engine that powers it along. The ride was also very smooth, and being able to switch between Sport, Normal and comfort means the rocco is enjoyable to drive too.
As mentioned this VW is all about looks rather than practicality, though it does have a deep boot and can carry a couple of passengers with ease. One thing it will do is guarantee to put a smile on your face, even before you have got into it. To me, a sign of a good car is that people ask you questions about it, and this car did this easily, even when at a stand still.
